I'm writing this blog because of the interest I have into this subject and current news event. TikTok and WeChat have taken off the past two years in the United States and are very popular. They have been very influential, especially TikTok. Due to some of the apps underlying problems it has, President Trump decides it is not ethical for the Americans peoples privacy.

On September 18th, the U.S announced that TicTok and WeChat will be banned in the U.S. Residents will no longer be able to download the app and will be shutdown on November 12th. The ban could be reversed if President Trump agrees to a trade deal, but as of right now, Trump is fully with banning it. The reason Trump wants to ban these apps is because it steals data to sell to China. September 20th, a federal judge decided to ban WeChat for the time being. The judge states "The ban comes dangerously close to violating the First Amendment right." Trump administration continues to claim that the app threatens national security.

TicTok is used by over hundred million Americans. The use for the app has a large variety of posts and videos from education, climate change, the BLM movement, dance videos, and comedy. These are all very appealing to the type of videos you want to watch. The value proposition of TikTok, in my opinion, is giving a platform where you can post your thoughts and any video you feel like posting to the internet. Freedom is a big part of this app. You can post what ever and when ever as long as it's appropriate. Tiktok is always making subtle changes to their app to make it that much better, they have a on going change in marketing relevance. They market there app very well and definitely is a eye grabber for Americans.  They are always changing, wether that is updating their app to make it that much better, new filters that are added, and the algorithm that get's you to watch the videos you want to watch.

ticTok and WeChat are faced with the problem of getting there app banded in the U.S. This ban could really destroy the apps and community that is involved with the app. Losing hundred million Americans due to the ban will not look good for TikTok and WeChat. Also all the influencers that have already put in so much work to gain lots of followers on the app may lose everything. People make money off this app by having a big following. That may result into a dilemma if the app get's banned.

In my opinion, If I were TicTok or WeChat, I would find a solution to make sure that my app would stay in the U.S. I wouldn't want to lose such a big following that could result to the downfall of my business. Working hard to make a deal with the U.S would be my biggest priority.

I honestly love the app TikTok for the comedy aspect of it. I don't post or anything, I just like watching others peoples content. After reading and learning about the potential ban of these two apps. It's a unfortunate thing to happen to these two apps. They are important to so many people wether that is for the content, or making a profit off the app. Why is it important to you?
